Raise Stats for the Battledome

There are many ways to raise your pet’s stats, here are some suggestions.

Training School
The training school is not always a good choice, especially if you do not have any spare codestones. The training school always asks for a certain amount of randomly chosen codestones for every course, depending on your pet’s level. (The higher level, the more codestones.). This method usually only gives you one point up of whatever area you choose, but occasionally you may get a “Super Bonus” of 2, 3, or even 4 points! It happens randomly, just like a Random Event. Codestones can be very expensive, around 3,500 or even more Neopoints in user shops. The only other way to find these is by random events. So if you find any on the floor, why not save it? You may need it in the future.

Kitchen Quest
Kitchen Quests can be very expensive, but sometimes you’ll get a cheap one. Or if you buy the items asked for in the main shops they aren’t quite as expensive. Sometimes you’ll get Neopoints or even items, not stat raising, but sometimes you do. You never know.

Neopets Faerie Abilities

Info:

At certain levels (stages of growth and experience), your neopet will gain certain powers. These range from the ability to hide to shooting fireballs or flying! Every couple of levels your neopet will gain new abilities.

How to Gain Abilities:

If you want a new ability for your neopet to use in the Battledome, you must do the following:

1. Check AND remember the current level of your neopet by Viewing Your Pets. There’s a link provided above.
2. Find an ability that you have not worked that is at your pet’s level or below.
3. See whether it is under which of the following categories: Light, Dark, Earth, Air, Fire or Water.
4. To the type (light, dark, etc.), add faerie to the end. For example: Fire => Fire Faerie.
5. Look for that type of Faerie. You can use the Magic Shop to buy one for 400 Neopoints, but they are very difficult to get, so many people just use the Shop Wizard. If you are patient, you can use the auction.
6. Once you buy the faerie, go to your inventory (area of where your items are). Click on that item. Then, select from the drop-down bless (your pet’s name). The faerie tells you that it had granted your neopet with an ability. If it just says that the faerie just flew away, then you did not meet the level requirement for that type of ability. Unfortunately, you have lost your faerie and you will need to buy another one.
7. Now you need to activate your ability, go to “Activate Abilities.” From there, click on the abilities you want to activate. If the image is animated, then it means that it is activated. If the picture is not moving and it is not animated, then that ability is not activated. To de-activate an ability, click on the image. You can only activate a maximum of eight abilities.

Battledome Tips

General Considerations

Consider these points before making purchases for the battledome.

1. Budget - How much are you willing to spend on each weapon. After allocating the budget, you can then search for the appropriate weapon to fill the slots. Note that expensive weapons are not always good and good weapons are not always expensive.

2. Species - Some species have cheap and good species weapons. Always check for species weapon before looking at the general weapons.

3. Opponent Type - Are you are going for 1-player challengers or 2-player battledome fights?

Taking these three points into account will help you make the best decisions for the battledome.

Offensive Weapons

Some important factors in selecting the best weapons.

1. Attack Icons - The number of Attack Icons is the power of the weapon, so you would want to get the weapon with the most icons. Some weapons have a range of icons, such as 1 to 4 Icons, for such weapons, you should take the average (if it is 1 to 4 Icons, the average is about (1+4)/2 = 2.5 Icons. For 2-player fights, the Icon Type will be of equal importance.
